All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah. (Psalms 66:4 KJV)
That will occur in our church this morning! We’ll open with a song – and this morning we’ll have new song books. We’ll certainly make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
Maybe it will be George Atkins and William Moore’s “Brethren, we have met to worship and adore the Lord our God…”
Or Haydn’s music with Robert Grant’s words from Psalm 104: “O worship the King, all glorious above, O gratefully sing His power and His love; Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.”
Or maybe one of Fanny Crosby’s hymns – one of my favorite lyricists! Can you hear the voices raised in praise?
Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer!
Sing, O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! hail Him! highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy Name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children,
In His arms He carries them all day long:
Refrain
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Tell of His excellent greatness.
Praise Him! Praise Him!
Ever in joyful song!
Ever in joyful song – now there’s a lyric that will echo through eternity. And, there are hundreds to choose from in most hymnals. Our new one has more than three hundred.
What’s your favorite hymn? Can you hear it in your mind even now? Do you know it well enough to sing all the verses? Does singing alone sound as though something is missing?
They sound so much better in a group. I pray that you’ll attend your local church and lift your voice with the congregation in praising His name, worshiping Him as Lord and celebrating the gifts He provides. May God bless you there!

Comments should take into consideration this verse: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8 KJV)
