Giving

As long time readers know, I use e-Sword and Pocket e-Sword for my early morning Bible reading and, therefore, blog pasting/posting.

The premise of the website is stated as freely ye have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:8 KJV)

Christ tells us to ask our Father to give to us: Give us this day our daily bread. (Matthew 6:11 KJV)

People asked Christ for that which they did not understand: Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. (John 6:32-34 KJV)

The best gift we have for God is ourselves – in compliance with His will, and we get so much in return: And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:40 KJV)

God is in the giving business, too: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (Ephesians 2:8 KJV)

Jesus spoke of this gift to the Samaritan woman, at the well: Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. (John 4:10 KJV)

Let me tell you! I learned of God’s gift, and I know Who was speaking to her, and I have asked of Him, and He has given to me that living water as promised.

It cannot be purchased: But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. (Acts 8:20 KJV), For the price has already been paid: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 KJV)

Always and forever, I shall give thanks to God for this unspeakable gift, just as Paul did: Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. (2 Corinthians 9:15 KJV)

Thank you for taking time to read and comment on the blog. Comments should take into consideration this verse: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8 KJV)
